Following the success of ICAO’s inaugural DRONE ENABLE symposium last year, a second 2018 DRONE ENABLE event is now being organized for 13-14 September in Chengdu, China. The focus of this year’s event will be to explore solutions with experts from industry, academia and other innovators regarding the coming evolution and integration of UAS traffic management and conventional air traffic management. Drone deliveries, drone inspections and even autonomous flying taxis are near term realities, and to make these services safe and efficient ICAO has begun the consultative work needed to establish low-altitude traffic management guidance for domestic unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).
