Registration is filling up fast for many events at this year’s City of Lakes Loppet Festival! Loppet Weekend celebrates winter like only Minnesota can and offers a huge range of events, races, and activities. This year’s festivities take place Jan. 30- Feb. 1, 2015.
Saturday, January 31 will be the 10th anniversary of the Luminary Loppet, sponsored by Comcast for the second year in a row. For many the Luminary Loppet is the highlight of winter when people of all ages and experience levels ski, snowshoe or walk around Lake of the Isles among thousands of candle-lit ice luminaries. Over the past few years the event has exploded in both scope and attendance. In fact, registrations are coming in significantly faster and sooner than for last year’s sold-out event. We anticipate that the 6:00 pm wave will soon fill, and the other waves shortly thereafter. There is a price-hike deadline on Jan. 15, but register before then to get your preferred start time.
